In a move that reaffirms the company’s position as a leader in advanced gate and fencing hardware, the nation’s foremost gate and fencing accessory supplier, Birkdale, has been awarded full product patents for the single and double locking versions of its innovative GateMate® Euro Profile Long Throw Lock.
Designed to provide superior gate security across all types of applications, the GateMate® Euro Profile Long Throw Lock outperforms traditional locking systems on a number of levels. The durable and reliable solution features a unique, hardened core bolt design, with a high-security six pin lock barrel, making it far harder to cut through, if attempted. This resistance can be further enhanced with the addition of a High Security Escutcheon, which is also supplied by Birkdale. Additionally, as the bolt used on the patented solution is of a greater length than those used on standard systems, the locks are not affected by a gap between the gate and gatepost.
As well as benefitting from its patented, high security design, the reliable solution offers customers excellent corrosion resistance, with a grade 316 stainless steel shoot bolt. What’s more, the versatile range is available in an extensive range of finishes to match existing gate hardware and can be fitted to gate, shed or garage door system quickly and easily.
On top of underlining the exceptional security credentials of the technology, the new patents also highlight the high level of attention and care Birkdale takes to ensure its solutions are accessible and easy to fit. The company’s industry-leading design team have specially designed the patented solutions to feature a narrowed body, which facilitates simple installations regardless of height. Furthermore, installers using the range will benefit from the comprehensive fitting instructions and self-adhesive drilling template, which come included as standard when purchasing the products. The required, high-quality, security stainless steel screws and driver bits are also included with every purchase, helping installers to achieve a straightforward and easy installation every time.
